Trip to the Hospital

July 20, 2009 · 1 Comment

Today, I had to go to the York Region central hospital, to have an MRI scan done on my left wrist, to check if it was cracked or not. Painfull stuff. Anyway, the MRI used a powerful magnet, so no metal could be taken into the scanning room, so I had to change my pants, because of the zipper. The pictures below. Honestly, look at me. I can make anything look good on me. I mean, look at me!

Today, my Dad and I, along with a few friends, went to Niagara Falls, Ontario. They’re visiting from another country, and we wanted to show them one of the more memorable Canadian places. These waterfalls happen to be the biggest in the world. We live in Toronto, so it was a two hour drive there, and I spent most of it playing Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops. When we got there, we parked, had lunch, and spent a few hours admiring the falls.

Obama disses video games

July 2, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Our beloved leader is on a bit of an anti-video game tear lately. In a Father’s Day message to all Americans, President Barack Obama categorized video games as a waste of kids’ time. In this Sunday’s Parade magazine, Obama wrote: We need to set limits and expectations. We need to replace that video game with a book and make sure that homework gets done. We need to say to our daughters, Howard Huge was unavailable for comment. That’s not the only Obama vs. video games news I have for you, though. In a speech to the American Medical Association, Obama got down to the nitty-gritty of preventative health care, saying it: “means going for a run or hitting the gym, and raising our children to step away from the video games and spend more time playing outside.” I’m totally in favor of kids both doing homework and playing outside (as long as I don’t have to participate in either), but I don’t think video games and good grade/health are mutually exclusive. Neither does EA Sports head Peter Moore. Moore, on EA’s website, threw down a challenge to the leader of the free world, posting: It may be time for the President and his family to put their Wii to good use and fire up the 30-Day Challenge with EA SPORTS Active. This is a “game” even the President may not want to “step away” from. And adding: Mr. President, here is my challenge to you: Try EA SPORTS Active and I guarantee you’ll need aides saying “Yes You Can!” to finish your first workout.

Metal Gear Solid No Longer a PlayStation Exclusive!

July 2, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I don’t think you can find a single person who has not heard of the award-winning, record-breaking, and utterly amazing Metal Gear Solid series. It has recieved universal acclaim from critics, game editors, and gaming sites alike. The gameplay sucked you in, the sound effects made your mouth drop open, the characters and the story attatched you to the game, and when you finished the game, you wished you hadn’t. The game has always been a great source of income for the PS3, and even gave some gamers a reason to buy the PS3. Well, those days are over now. Konami recently announced a new Metal Gear Solid game at E3: Metal Gear Solid Rising. However, they announced something even more shocking than that. Konami shocked the crowd when the company announced that Metal Gear Solid Rising would be released for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 gaming consoles! There is no doubt that Sony will take a huge hit from this, as the series had always been one of the greatest things about the PlayStation.
